33rd day of Lent: prayer and reading

Prayer

Merciful God as we come near the Cross
In your mercy and justice
As those who inflict wounds on each other and deny justice to others, have mercy.
As those who seize wealth and deny our greed, have mercy.
As those who condemn others but are blind to our secret faults, have mercy.
As those who refuse to receive help and are afraid of this world’s uncertainty, have mercy
Giver of life, we wait with you at the Cross to bear your hope in this life.

Amen
